Minturn

Minturn’s oldest families settled the area in the late 1800s both to farm the land and mine silver in the mountains high above town. The Denver and Rio Grande Railroad arrived in 1887, quickly developing Minturn into a booming crossroads for transportation and industry. In response to the growing population demands for businesses and town services, Minturn was incorporated on November 15, 1904. Today, Minturn maintains its unique architecture and character stemming from its history, while catering to locals and visitors alike with its central location between Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts. Minturn’s charm and appeal stems from the friendly residents, locally owned businesses and restaurants, its breathtaking views and riverfront location.
